The Foundling of Limsa Lominsa

Like a seed flown miles away...where did I come from

His earliest memories include the smell of fish, huge snowy peaks and biting cold. At Eight years old he should have remembered more.
It was one burly pirate and his wife who took him in; Grymfochs and Dhemokoeyb and thier daughter; Styrskaet. He remembers being stressed, and not understanding them. They spent days searching Limsa Lominsa for his parents before the Ship manifest was released. He had come with no one. So they named him Klyngiess and journeyed to thier home in the dravanian hinterlands.
The earliest memory of the aether sickness came during classes where he and other students were learning to make carbuncles. While he achieved making his carbuncle, the sudden output of aether sent him into a debilitating migraine. He remembers the fear of not being able to see or hear over the ringing in his ears. Around early puberty for a viera he went to both of his parents with help from family friends to explain he did not feel like Klyngiess, and he'd rather be called Einar.

A Spiteful Sage

To heal others you must heal yourself first, and to do that...I needed answers

A hunger for knowledge was normal in his life, with the dravanian colony as home Einar strove most of his young life for answers to his aether sickness. Not a cure, just answers. Yet he it was not until the evacuation of the colony and the relocation to the Scholar's Isle that spurred the young arcanist to move into the teachings of Physis Technon, where he dedicated himself to researching aetherical medicine, aetherology, and alternative healing methods. While he never got answers as to why he got sick, he did find the means to manage his illness, and a love for being able to heal and provide answers to those searching like he did.It was his own curiousity and the mentorship of a family friend that provided him the means to submit his archonship thesis on his own treatment of chronic aether sickness. Despite his successes his early adulthood in Old Sharlayan specifically the inaction in times of calamity and crisis for fellow nations of the star. He regularly found means to leave the isle and render a healing touch. It was not until recently the policies of Sharlayan aligned with his own morals as a healer.

A Love and Home

One would think as deeply devoted to research and academia as Einar is, he had little time for romantic pursuits. The truth of the matter is it was the least of his concerns because he had already found a man who had claimed his heart. A rather dour and well known alchemist who worked closely to manage his migraines as well as a partner on a deeply personal journey he underwent. Louis Croix while rather dour and equally devoted to his skills in alchemy, became his husband after years of friendship. They quite simply are home for eachother.

One of Many Names

A Sage by many names; Einar Kisne-Croix, sage and archon of aetherology with more than a few articles published in Aetherical Healing and Aether Studies. Einar Gyrmfochsyn a name that is prehaps his most well known, as it was the name that his early research, official Sharlayan documentation. Klyngeiss Grymfochswyn, a name he was previously known by but considers dead and gone. It never really suited him according to his family. His birth name however remains a mystery to even him, all he knows of his past before Eorzea and Sharlayan, is that he was on a ship from Tuliyollal bound for Radz-at-Han.

Pain's Enigma

Aether Sickness, an incurable ailment, was his motivation for studying the healing arts. His illness manifests with terrible and often debilitating migraines to very mild headaches. Through years of working with Scholars, Sages and Alchemists proved that while his own large aether well can present as a trigger, his most common trigger was large sudden bursts of aether from external sources. This was often written off as a consequence of being so young when the destruction of Silver Tear Lake happened even with the great distance he was from it. The lack of answers only fueled his desire to find his own answers, and to provide answers to those who suffered with similar ailments. Perhaps there is someone with valuable insight into managing his ailment, or perhaps insight into how such an ailment developed. This Ailment is not curable.

A Sage's Oath

An oath of healing is a promise but fulfilling that promise in a world full of strife is rare. Neutrality is more so used as a tool to dodge offering aid rather than being the balm to wounds, or to calm the storm of heated words. His neutrality was decreed by his nationality, but he at the end of the day made a promise to render aid. No matter the City State, the Continent of Origin, the Profession, or the side of the battlefield they are on. He would render aid when possible. Between slipping between the lines of the garlean invasion and open conflict, to sitting in the back alleys of Ul’dah. In a world full of shades of gray, connections are everything and a young aetherical healer can offer a variety of healing support. What connection has he shared with you?

The Life of a Researcher

In his studies to become an Archon, staying up to date in his training as a sage, and forming his own organization. Einar has amassed the collection of books, all of which range from Botany to Aetherical Theory. On the finer notes he carries his own published papers as well as treatises on alchemy, and books pertaining to his hobbies of knitting, and cooking. Upon request he is willing to loan them out and along with some beginner books on sage training and theory work, or papers regarding the history of Eorzea's politics.

Dravanian and Coerthan Interests

As the FOOLS have settled into Ishgard, the young sage has taken to traveling the former Sharlayan Colony in the Hinterlands as well as visiting Idyllshire. He frequents the Coerthan City State as it is the home base of the FOOLS while in Eorzea. Oftentimes he can be found in the markets or braving the depths of Great Gubal Library. Perhaps you have seen him, or perhaps you wonder what the FOOLS mission in Eorzea is?

Reconnecting Lost Threads

For the longest time he believed he was from the Skatay Mountains, and he had been found in the Golmere Jungle by his parents. After all, it was his memories; a great snowy mountain, the bone chilling cold, the too green rainforest, and its smothering heat. However as he updated his official paperwork with the new home of FOOLS, it came about that he was in fact adopted after disembarking a ship from Tuliyolol in Limsa Lominsa. Limited further research showed he was from Xak Tural, but not much else. Now Einar has a curiosity about his home, his people and who his family wanted him to be.
